CAMPANIA - HOMELAND FOOD AND WINE

 

Day 1

Arrival in Naples and private transfer to Sorrento Peninsula, surrounded by crystal clear sea

Day 2

Sorrento and its lemons

Sorrento is the best known touristic town of the peninsula, rich in culinary traditions, in natural and artistic beauties  Don’t forget to taste the sweet “delizia al limone” and to drink “limoncello”

In the outskirts, in Massa Lubrense and Vico Equense, you will find a real “heaven of taste”: sausages, different types of cheese (burrini, caciottine, caprignetti, provolone…)

Day 3

Benevento and Avellino

Benevento is also called “the city of the witches”, probably due to pagan rituals of the Longobard populations who had invaded the Sannio region   Among the various specialities of these two cities we recommend the TORRONE (honey,  egg white, almonds or hazelnuts), and the red wine Aglianico or the white Fiano, to go with a fish soup

Day 4

Paestum and the Buffalo Mozzarella

Departure to Paestum, archaeological site of Greek origin, where three Doric temples are standing.   Visit of a farm where the Mozzarella DOP is produced

Day 5

Vesuvio and Lacryma Christi DOC

The Vesuvio is one of the few still active volcanoes in Europe, now still sleeping (luckily) On its slopes there are the vineyards of the famous Lacryma Christi wines, that you will taste during your lunch at a well known farm

 Day 6

Gragnano and Pasta IGP

Gragnano is famous in Europe as the “City of Pasta”. The tradition of pasta made of semolina has lasted for more than five hundred years;  in 2013 Gragnano  Pasta was awarded by Europe as IGP (Indicazione geografica protetta).

A visit to a local pasta factory is scheduled, with the obvious conclusion of a tasting dinner

Day 7

Transfer to Naples

Price includes:  private car renting with  expert driver from 2nd to 6th day ; driver’s meals;  parking fees when needed transfer to and from hotel , accommodation in 4* hotel in double room, BB
