Navigate on the Adda river
A few steps from Milan an oasis out of time…
An alternative route the river route. 55-minute guided boat tours starting from Trezzo sull’Adda. Have an aperitif on board or relax while tasting the delights of the area at the restaurant “Al molo 13”
Embarkation is in Trezzo sull’Adda (in front of the Pier 13 restaurant on Via Alzaia, 13). At the start, the scenery presented to the eyes of the navigator is unique: the large bend in the river formed by the last bastion of the “Adda strain” is dominated by the imposing bulk of the Visconti Castle of Lombard origin. At its foot is the “Taccani” hydroelectric power plant, a masterpiece of the Art Nouveau style, a true “cathedral” of energy, which fits perfectly into the natural landscape. After a brief explanation about the power plant and the castle, we depart northward where we come to a beautiful natural oasis that is home to several animal species including swans, grebes, coots, water turtles, and mallards (depending on the time of year). After the observation and explanation is over, we continue north (towards Porto d’Adda) until we reach the Villa Paradiso area where the nature of the North Adda Park surrounds every visible corner. Reversing our course, we skirt the opposite side of the river past the “fishermen’s” area and reach the old washerwomen’s pebble “beach.” Here the guide will show all the pages of the Atlantic Codex written by Leonardo Da Vinci concerning this stretch of the Adda River where he lived for four years. Descending further south we come to a final oasis on the Bergamo shore where birds of various species rest in the shade of the park. Skirting the power plant, one arrives at the starting point enriched after getting to know the river in all its forms.
