Itinerary
Morning dedicated to a gudated tour of the Carrara Academy, reopened in 2015 after years of restoration.
It possesses as many as 1,800 works, from the 15th to the 19th century. The venue is a majestic neoclassical building. The works bear the signatures of the likes of Pisanello, Botticelli, Bellini, Moroni, Raphael, Tiepolo, and Canaletto. In the first year of reopening alone, its 28 halls were visited by nearly 115,000 people. Among the absolute masterpieces are Mantegna's "Madonna and Child," with fine gold embroidery on a lapis lazuli blue background
